These chants were composed in the summer of 2014.
Big shout out to Zainab Nedou Patel for helping fund the project and help spread the ancient knowledge of chants and yoga.

“What are yoga chants?

Yoga Chants

Ashtanga Yoga traditionally has both an opening chant and a closing chant. Because of Yoga’s ancient roots, chants (or mantras) are offered in Sanskrit (the ancient language of India), however their meaning is said to be universal as Sanskrit is the language of the heart.

Chanting acts to shift the consciousness of the individual practicing the chant to a higher level of vibration. This in turn brings us closer to our Source or Higher Self – the aspect of ourselves that remains eternal – and leaves the practitioner filled with peace and feeling calm and centred.

Studies have shown that when a person chants it can stabilise their heart rate, lower blood pressure, produce beneficial endorphins in the body and boost metabolic processes, so it perfectly compliments the physical practice of asana.

Ashtanga Yoga Opening Chant

The Opening Prayer is a blessing of gratitude offered to the lineage of teachers and their students who have enabled this ancient practice to survive through thousands of years so that we can experience its benefits today. The recitation of this mantra cleanses the energy of the space we have chosen to practice yoga, as well as preparing the mind, body and emotions for the forthcoming Ashtanga sequence.

Vande Gurunam Charanaravinde
Sandarshita Svatma Sukava Bodhe
Nih Sreyase Jangalikayamane
Samsara Halahala Mohashantyai

Abahu Purushakaram
Shankhacakrsi Dharinam
Sahasra Sirasam Svetam
Pranamami Patanjalim

I bow to the lotus feet of the Supreme Guru
which awaken insight into the happiness of pure Being,
which are the refuge, the jungle physician,
which eliminate the delusion caused by the poisonous herb of Samsara (conditioned existence).

I prostrate before the sage Patanjali
who has thousands of radiant, white heads (as the divine serpent, Ananta)
and who has, as far as his arms, assumed the form of a man
holding a conch shell (divine sound), a wheel (discus of light or infinite time) and a sword (discrimination).

Ashtanga Yoga Closing Chant

The Closing Prayer brings the practice to a peaceful end; sealing in the work done and offering the efforts of our practice to improve the state of the world.

Svasthi Praja Bhyaha Pari Pala Yantam
Nya Yena Margena Mahim Mahishaha
Go Brahmanebhyaha Shubamastu Nityam
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu
Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi

May the rulers of the earth keep to the path of virtue
For protecting the welfare of all generations.
May the religious, and all peoples be forever blessed,
May all beings everywhere be happy and free
Om peace, peace, perfect peace”

A minority of the population on planet earth believe in extraterrestrial life, an even smaller minority believes that the DNA of the monkeys on earth was tampered with to create the modern human species and an even smaller minority of people believe that human beings are actually different tribes from outer space.

It’s a super fascinating subject and always makes space for an interesting debate, but once you open up your mind and let your imagination drift with no preconceived ideas, it all may just make sense and you may just understand why you look up at the stars so longingly 🙂 🙂 🙂

Anyway this set of songs was written in the spring of 2010, the inspiration of the music is driven by the idea that we live on this planet in harmony with different alien species and how the human energy is abducting these alien energies and making them take human form.

Abducting aliens is a collection of downtempo tracks that show case a darker shade of ambient electronic music. The 5 songs in this collection are

1. These beings are around all of us
2. An Alien Lullaby
3. Space Ships in the Sky
4. Witnessing the hatching of an ET+Human Egg
5. Abducting Aliens

The names pretty much sum up what the agenda for the listening session is 🙂 Another random fact is that Ambient music is often referred to as elevator music 🙂 🙂 🙂 Hahaha I have always found that funny 🙂

It would be interesting to see if anyone plays this album in their elevators and if someone does, please do hit me up because I would love to take a ride in it!

Jokes apart, I hope all you ETs out there enjoy listening to this album! Always Keep ET real 🙂

Lots of space and bass,

Every once in a while in life one feels like taking a vacation not just from work but from everything else as well, one gets this urge to want to connect to a deeper rhythm within oneself and just get back to a natural state of being, a comfortable relaxed space of existence

Music is probably everyone’s best friend in moments like that it gives you some time off it gives you inspiration it rejuvenates you it makes you happy gives you strength, music does a lot to help humanity move along in this crazy chaotic busy life that surrounds each and every one of us

NATURAL RHYTHMS is an album that aims at giving you that vacation you are looking for its an album that invokes solitude and makes you want to spend some quite time contemplating and just being. 🙂

The album was written in the winter of 2013 there are 7 tracks in this album and each song is named after a moment inspired by the beauty of planet earth and the different roles Mother Nature plays in our lives.

Track 1 Sunrise in the mountains
Track 2 A Walk on the Beach
Track 3 The Rain Song
Track 4 Full Moon in a Forest
Track 5 Winter by the Lake
Track 6 Sunset in the Desert
Track 7 Universal love of Natural Rhythms

All the names for the songs are self-explanatory

Natural Rhythms from my point of view as an artist is an album for people who are looking for something deep, something silent, something that make you aware and yet takes you on a journey into your natural self.

I feel its best enjoyed in a quite meditative environment with your body being in a relaxed and comfortable posture. One should try and hear it with like-minded people or just with your lover but its best enjoyed on your own.

I hope you enjoy the space it invokes with in you.

With all my love,

Why I choose digital music / electronic music as a medium to express myself as an artist is because I’m able to tell a story through this medium & that’s the one thing that constantly fascinates me & also keeps me excited about using this medium. I am not so much in to the production side of things as I am more into the concept of telling the story having said that ‘Sonic Mandalas’ was produced in the winter of 2007, at that time I was really excited as this was the first album I was going to write using the software Logic.

The concept of this album is based around the pattern we are all a part of, where our consciousness has comes to life and is experiencing itself.

What is a mandala?

The word “mandala” is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Loosely translated to mean “circle,” a mandala is far more than a simple shape. It represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself–a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.

So, ‘Sonic Mandalas’ has 7 tracks, the first one ‘Open Reflections’ is where the consciousness comes to life and sees its own reflection in the cosmos. Leading on to ‘Heady Messages’ which is about how after consciousness is reflected the head receives messages from everywhere and the dream becomes a reality. The song ‘Other Planets’ is about understanding where the experience is taking place and how different races on earth came from different planets and colonized earth. ‘Twisted Realms’, it’s about realizing that the consciousness is in the middle of the experience and there is no way to go back. ‘You’re safe’ is the track where the consciousness comes to terms with where it is and what it needs to do. ‘Things we share our planet with’, is when the consciousness understands that everything that helps it exist and experience life is created by other forms of life and its future depends on everything else. The last track ‘Sonic mandalas’, is the mandala for bliss, here the consciousness realizes its purpose and understands deeply that this experience is about being free loving sharing caring helping and uplifting other forms of life and energy it is a song for inner celebration 🙂

Hope you enjoy listening to it 🙂
